A Journey in Faith

Journey to FaithChallenging times, a search for comfort . . . .and the outcome?  A wonderful new member at St Stephen's Church, and a humbling story of a journey to faith.  The ultimate outcome was a joyous adult baptism with a moving testament of the road travelled.

The following words brought tears to many in the congregation, plus an exhiliarting sense that God's hand had truly been at work in ensuring that St Stephen's warm welcome to all had led to such a rewarding and comforting outcome.

"When I ask myself why am I undertaking Christianity, why baptism – my answer is seemingly simple – because it’s a better fit for me. But what does that actually mean. To me it means that in Christ, my soul has found a place of peace and comfort, calm and stillness, where I am completely accepted for who and what I am – without pressure or prejudice . . .  A place where all or any of it truly doesn’t matter. I have found a place where I can just be – a perfectly imperfect human being under God’s grace. A place where I feel peace, love and acceptance."
