The warmest of Welcomes at this inclusive church
An inclusive Anglican church in Bath, UK
Saint Stephen’s is a church family that is excited by the limitless possibilities of God, who creates and imagines; by the radical love and inclusion of Jesus of Nazareth, and by the abiding Spirit who connects us and enables us to live this wonderful gift of life to the full. We are part of a United Benefice with St Mary’s, Charlcombe, the oldest church in Bath. We hold very dearly hospitality, generosity and inclusion. Here is a gathered community of all kinds of traditions and beliefs, and all ages. We have a heart for welcome and journeying, and have a passion live God’s peaceable Kingdom without and within.
“May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.”
Teresa of Ávila
As a Church and as individual Church members we are committed to doing all we can to reduce our carbon footprint and so make a difference in preserving the earth for future generations. We are working towards the A Rocha Bronze Award. Some churches have already achieved this and are aiming for the next level, and many others, like us, are on their way. A Rocha Eco Church states as their mission "to demonstrate that the gospel is good news for God's earth" and as a church we identify with these aims. To discover more about A Rocha click link on Green Tab below.
We hope you will visit our own website blog page entitled "God's Glorious Creation" where you can find out more about what we are doing on this front and take part in our Challenge Activities: https://ststephensbath.org.uk/news/-/gods-glorious-creation_91/
If it seems like a massive undertaking, which indeed it is, take courage from the sentiment expressed in the ancient Chinese proverb quoted below.:
A journey of a thousand miles starts beneath one's feet.
