CHURCH NEWS

  • Taizé Service at St Mary's 

After the wonderful Taizé service at St Mary’s, there’s to be another on Sunday 15th September at 6.30pm.

  • Our Rector Philip's Sabbatical

Philip is having a sabbatical for three months from 16th September till 15th December. Pray for him and Lizzie, Annie and Ted. And for Debbie who steps wonderfully into the breach during this time.

  • Cleaning the Church

Please help cleaning the church on Saturday mornings during the coffee morning and Pop-In - sign up on the cleaning rota list in the foyer. Thanks.

CHURCH AND COMMUNITY: REGULAR MONTHLY EVENTS 

  • Lansdown Friendship Club

This is taking place at St Stephen's Centre on the first Friday every month – 3.30pm, and is especially suited for anyone experiencing memory difficulties. All welcome with an accompanying family, friend or carer. NEXT MEETING IS ON FRIDAY 6th September. lansdownfc@ststephensbath.org.uk

  • Popcorn

Popcorn is St Stephen’s new monthly film night for young people of secondary school age. Meeting on the first Sunday of the month 6.30-9:00 pm St Stephen's Church foyer. Bring a snack to share. email youth@ststephensbath.org.uk for more information

  • St Stephen's Gardens

Next Gardening date is 28th September.  Depending on the weather. dates in October & November will also be notified later. More details: carltonporterb@gmail.com

Judging took place in July through the work of Bath in Bloom (BinB) and South West in Bloom (SWinB)  The results will be available at the end of September and will be posted on this website.

PRAYER REQUESTS

  • Prayer is the foundation of being church. St Stephen’s Mondays 8.45am, Saturday 9.30-10am. St Mary’s 8.10am and 9am Tuesdays, and meditation 7.00 pm Wednesdays. 

Please pray for:

  • Climate Change

B&NES council has declared a climate emergency and has voted to make our city carbon neutral by 2030. We will pray how our churches can support this.  

  • Chaplaincies

Please pray for the chaplaincy of Debbie at Send-a-Cow.

  • Jane Hoe  

Jane has begun her training ordination training, she will do a three year non-residential course at Sarum College. We pray for her and Brent, Molly and Ellen. 

  • Tim May

Tim May is beginning his second year at Durham with his wife Beth.

  • Community Houses of Prayer

These groups meet once a month on a Tuesday at 19:45.  Meetings take place within the various Bath communities to pray for Bath and the area represented.  The event is organised by Bath Christian Action Network andmore information is available on www.bathchurches.org.uk
