Lansdown is leafy and largely affluent. Set up on the hill there are wonderful views of our city from many parts. As with many parts of Bath, sunrise and sunset can render the stonework on many streets and houses especially beautiful.
There are two pubs, The Richmond in Richmond Place, and the Hare & Hounds up by the Park and Ride. Both are excellent.
There are three schools in the parish, St Stephen’s VA CofE Primary, The Royal High School - an independent girls school - and Kingswood - a mixed independent school. We also have good ties with St Mark’s CofE Secondary in Larkhall in the neighbouring parish. At the new housing development at Ensleigh there is a new primary being built: Abbot Alphege School opens in September 2017.
Lansdown is also home the the Lansdown Croquet, Squash and Tennis club, Primrose Hill Woods, and the Millennium Green and St Stephen’s Gardens.
